CHAPLAINCY GUARDIAN AD LITEM OPTION 2
The State of Florida provides a course given each month, that is approximately 30 hours. The course teaches you to become an officer of the State of Florida. After taking the course, as a Guardian ad Litem, you will be assigned to be
a child advocate for the court. You will be assigned a child's case and you will visit an abused child either in a foster home or group home then file a report as to the child's well being. The course you take will teach you exactly how to do this.
The Chaplaincy will consider this to be a sufficient community service commitment, three hours per month to become a full Chaplain, once you have completed your 30 hour course.
There is no fee to take the Guardian ad Litem course,
and you can become a Guardian ad Litem without becoming
a Chaplain. However the Chaplaincy considers this course so important and committed to community service, that anyone who completes this program is considered a spiritual asset and is immediately named a Chaplain.
